2017 carries us forward
Despite disquiet we go toward
A new dawn full of hope
A fresh landscape to scope
Changing attitudes from separation to unity
We find together opportunity
To keep fear and anger at bay
for yes it would lead us astray
Even though at times may be hard
And our hearts have been scarred
It's for you and me to see
A better, humane reality
Don't discard your hearts
In favour of quick darts
Let's not grow further apart
But instead, together, find a new start
