Lapsing Lucidity

Bungalows sit side by side like brick coffins
Sea-side on this isle is the final destination
Nothing more to explore
But the memories of our minds
The great expanse stretches out before us
And we dance in this expanse
It`s a name you know?
A hotel not more than 80 years old
But old enough to be frozen in our time
All Black Out and Blitz
Silk stockings, so rare
Behind the coal shed
All was laid bare
Respectful th(r)ough mind
Not like today, where no thing is left
Hermetically sealed, TV as our world window
We drift in and out of our past
Not knowing how long each episode will last
In that we find our peace
Our flag at half mast

Written in homage to my grandparents suffering Alzheimer’s
