StadtGalerie, Salzburg Professional contemporary choreographer
Mirjam Klebel extended the steps developed with the young teens in the workshops in with
Griet Vanden Houden and supported them to think about the gallery space and art work differently. Many of the drawings were figurative, but the very form of illustration is able to show movement, a key component of dance. Mirjam supported the teens to think about how these figurative drawings could literally be lifted off the page and brought out into the choreography. The teens became moving illustrations. Figurative drawings that have come to life through the teenagers emotive interpretations of them. So here is just a little taste and window view into the complex process. Much more to come!
