The Tempest at Dawn

Our lives inexplicably entwined
My mind could not find

Tempest conjures the mysterious
Yet old wounds bring weariness

Our lives began to bend
Towards each other
Like two trees trying to mend

Mutually yearning to grow
Yet somehow I know
That life has brought us
To these common paths
Through integrity
We stand with our staffs

Looking out into the unknown
What will we be shown?

The horizon is caped at dawn
Will the sun rise beyond our yawns

Apathy poses silent danger
Is our generation the game changer
Or will we remain atomized strangers
